Full details of the presentations are as follows:
. Monday, February 18th, 2:55pm Command and Control Centres - The Beginning Of A New Model?
This presentation will look at whether Facility Managers with paper work order tickets, security-monitoring rooms in basements and HVAC personnel in every facility could be replaced with Building Operation Centres. Consisting of multiple buildings \"networked\" together with centralised, remote monitoring of security, HVAC and ultimately, all aspects of building operations, these advanced facilities are rapidly becoming the standard. This session will include case studies of leading edge Building Operations Centres and illustrations of how some visionary real estate companies are making the strategic transition to this innovative and cost-effective business model.
. Tuesday, February 19th, 9:30am Breakfast Keynote Day 2- Global Best Practices - Intelligent Buildings
The presentation will begin with innovation in the built environment and global best practices, but will then focus on Intelligent Buildings. With the emergence of IP as the predominant communications protocol, the entire landscape of Intelligent Buildings has changed dramatically. During the last 4 years Realcomm has uncovered some of the most forward thinking, provocative, technically advanced and visionary commercial projects in the world. This journey will demonstrate new standards for what is possible.
Mike has demonstrated a strong track record of turning vision into reality, through both promoting and delivering Intelligent Buildings and an involvement in various high-profile committees such as: The British Council of Shopping Centres, British Standards Institution (BSI), and a long time involvement with Intelligent Building Group (IBG), for which he is its General Secretary.
Realcomm Europe 2008 brings together the real estate technology industry and the European business community to discuss and debate global best practices that pertain to technology, automation and innovation in the real estate industry.
The theme of this first year event will be REmagination - New Technology, New Ideas, New Times. "REmagination" combines new ideas and innovative solutions in real estate with imagination - to transform the industry into an efficient and visionary discipline.
